To me, it has always been about balance. From the industrial revolution forward, humans began to ignore nature's most important and fundamental principle: balance. Nothing exists in nature that is not in balance and if it does, it is invasive, a virus, an infestation, or a plague - all with real consequences. We humans mistake our intelligence for what it really is: hubris. At it is now our downfall. But what I'm also sad about is all the OTHER species who have lived in balance for millennia that we are taking down with us...
